Traditionally, the female members of the family make the rangoli while the male members decorate the house with lights and all that but my parents always made my brother and I do both. We helped Dad with the decorations and then mom with the rangoli, there was no such thing as gender and I am so grateful to my parents for that. Even today, I make it a point to do both, even though sometimes it can be really tiring work, but I love it because in a way, it’s what makes my Diwali special.
